WASHINGTON — Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nickolay Mladenov is discussing with U.S. officials his country's efforts to crack down on corruption.
Mladenov said he heard support for the push from U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Tuesday. The two officials also discussed Balkan issues and operations in Afghanistan.
Bulgaria's centre-right government came to power last year on a promise to fight widespread public corruption that prompted the European Union to freeze some of its aid.
